Work and Employment

Description

The autobiographers' recollections of their working life are gathered under this theme. Their experiences are far ranging, from missionary and educational development in Africa, to piloting airplanes across the Middle East. Some of the professions which are documented under this theme include; postmaster, teacher, religious nun, shop keeper, homemaker, pilot, clerical assistant, chef and nurse. The stories, images and documents provide a fascinating portrait of working life in the latter half of the 20th century.
