I loved going to stay with my Granny McGovern who lived in the country.  I suppose it was the freedom of being able to run through the fields.  We had lots of new friends there.  They called us ‘the Townies’.

From a very early age I was a sports fanatic – everything from Gaelic football to cricket.  We played whatever was in season.  I loved reading and tried stamp collecting, but I became bored with it very quickly.
