Re: Purchase of ground rent

Description

Buying ones house did not include the ground on which it stood and the ground had to be rented from the owner for a period of years such as twenty one years or ninety years. At the end of the rental period the rent had to be renegotiated or the ground and all the buildings reverted to the ground landlord. This is a letter of offer to allow us to buy out the ground rent at five times the annual ground rent. This was due to a new law which had been brought in then which forced the landlord to sell the leashold interest. The annual ground rent was 14.50
