I was married in 1959 in Lisburn Road Methodist Church. I was also baptised in this church. I met my husband at Finaghy Dramatic Society. He was the producer. On my first date I went to the grand opera house,Belfast. I got engaged on 29 May 1957. We went to Halls Hotel Antrim for a meal. My wedding date was 15th July 1959. Swithen's Day. A beautiful day ' it did not rain. My dress was white and silver brocade. I had a white lace veil and a silver and mother-of-pearl head dress. I carried a white Bible with Lily of the Valley flowers and stephanotis. The reception was at Knocknagorey Hotel,Belfast. I spent my honeymoon touring the South of Ireland.
