Text

Retired 1987, 31st May, thirty - seven years in the Belfast City Hospital and Jubilee Maternity Hospital. Some of the staff I worked with had a small party, a cup of tea and some good chat and reminiscence of good times. I felt very sad, had no idea what was I going to do with myself. I felt I had made a mistake. A few days after I retired staff had a special evening for me when I received some lovely gifts from several departments. I missed my work, especially the company of my workmates, staff, and all the goings on in the hospital.
